WHAT WE DO

The America, My Oyster Association promotes multi-cultural awareness education to foster a more diversified understanding of the various individuals, cultures, and communities found in America.

With this in mind, the AMOA endeavors to generate a shared sense of community and positive cohesiveness among its members, supporters, and groups that we serve.

Our Mission

The America, My Oyster Association is committed to utilizing our collaborative efforts to preserve the diverse histories, recognize the various struggles, and celebrate the victories of all individuals residing in America.

The America, My Oyster Association (AMOA) was founded on May 27, 2016 by multi-cultural awareness educators and diversity consultants in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Initially, this organization was the brainchild of the My America, Your America, Our America Writers’ project (2012-2015), which was a student-based writers’ group that published two editions of a Race and Ethnic Studies journal. Due to the success of this unique project, a non-profit organization was established which led to the creation of the America, My Oyster Association which is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization that actively seeks to serve as a sustainable resource for all individuals in exploring, voicing, and appreciating the multiplicity of the American experience.
